iThongo: A Collaborative Xhosa Music Creation Camp Livestream

Kidd’s Beach, Eastern Cape – Mazik Firm in partnership with MTN is proud to announce iThongo, a content creation event taking place in Kidd’s Beach from June 26 to July 3, 2023.

Combining Youth Month and Mandela Month, iThongo is a celebration of abaXhosa within South African society, featuring a week-long gathering of some of the most talented and innovative isiXhosa, Xhosa Trap, and SA Hip Hop artists.

The event is curated by Prince Masuku of Mazik Firm, a content creation and music production company dedicated to promoting the next generation of South African talent.

iThongo will bring together established artists and up-andcoming stars to collaborate and create music, videos, and other content that celebrates the rich cultural heritage of the Xhosa people and their contributions to South African music and society.

“We are thrilled to host iThongo in Kidd’s Beach, a beautiful location that provides the perfect backdrop for this unique and exciting event,” said Prince Masuku, CEO of Mazik Firm.

“By combining Youth Month and Mandela Month, we are honoring the legacy of Nelson Mandela and the spirit of South African youth, while celebrating the vibrancy and creativity of isiXhosa, Xhosa Trap, and SA Hip Hop.

” Over the course of the week, participants in iThongo will have access to state-of-the-art recording and production facilities, as well as mentorship and guidance from some of the industry’s respected producers, engineers, and artists.

The resulting music, videos, and other content will be released to the public and shared widely on social media, providing a platform for emerging artists to showcase their talents and connect with fans around the world.
