Malawi – Renowned artists from Malawi, namely Skeffa, Tay Grin, Suffix, Sangie, Maggie, Paul Kachala, Praise Umali, and Esther Chitheka, have come together to form an ensemble called “We Are Malawi.” Today, on June 15, 2023, they released their powerful and inspiring song titled “Ndizotheka.” Produced by the legendary Tapps Bandawe (Producer), this song marks the celebration of 20 years of partnership between the United States of America and Malawi in the fight against HIV/AIDS. “Ndizotheka” is an anthem that aims to encourage the end of AIDS stigmatization, promote testing, and foster open conversations about AIDS.

“Ndizotheka” holds profound significance as it commemorates the work and impact of the President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) in Malawi. PEPFAR, the U.S. government’s global initiative to combat HIV, stands as the largest health program worldwide dedicated to addressing a single disease. Over the past two decades, PEPFAR has played a crucial role in saving countless lives and transforming the course of the global HIV epidemic. The song “Ndizotheka” showcases a dynamic fusion of diverse musical styles and a unique approach to the Malawian sound, resulting in a captivating and energetic composition. With its thumping beat and infectious rhythm, the song is bound to get listeners moving and grooving.

One remarkable aspect of the song is the special featured appearance by the American ambassador David Young, highlighting the strong friendship between Malawi and the United States.

With its wide distribution across various radio stations, “Ndizotheka” aims to reach audiences not only in Malawi but also in other PEPFAR countries. This presents a significant opportunity to showcase Malawian music to the world, promoting cultural exchange and introducing new listeners to the talents of the collaborating artists.

The promotional campaign for the song will feature a series of captivating initiatives spanning across the entire country. Through a diverse range of activations and events, we aim to bring this significant message directly to the hearts and minds of Malawians, fostering a deep sense of engagement and unity within the community.

“We Are Malawi” invites everyone to join in celebrating this milestone and to embrace the spirit of togetherness and solidarity in the fight against HIV/AIDS. Let “Ndizotheka” inspire us all to be advocates for change and agents of a brighter future.
